You are in control of your data. This page explains how to disconnect a social network, take SendGecko's access away on the network's side, and have your account and data deleted. It is also the data deletion page for apps and platforms that ask for one, including Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads), TikTok and Google.
Disconnect a network
- Sign in at app.sendgecko.io.
- Open Settings → Channels.
- Choose the channel and select Remove.
What happens: its access tokens, app passwords and webhook URLs are deleted immediately. Posts that were scheduled for it are skipped. Posts already published stay on the network (they're yours there) and, in SendGecko, stay in your history until you delete them or ask us to. Data we collected from that network, such as performance numbers, is deleted within 30 days.
Remove SendGecko's access on the network
You can also take access away from inside the network itself. When a network tells us access was revoked, we delete the credentials and the channel's data as above. Menu names change from time to time, so look for “connected apps” or “permitted services” if a step differs.
- Facebook. Facebook → Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations → SendGecko → Remove. Open the page
- Instagram. Instagram → Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites → SendGecko → Remove. Open the page
- Threads. Threads → Settings → Account → Website permissions → SendGecko → Remove.
- TikTok. TikTok → Settings and privacy → Security and permissions → Apps and websites (the name varies by version) → SendGecko → Remove.
- YouTube. Google Account → Security → Third-party apps with account access → SendGecko → Remove access. Open the page
- LinkedIn. LinkedIn → Settings & Privacy → Data privacy → Permitted services → SendGecko → Remove. Open the page
- Pinterest. Pinterest → Settings → Apps (or Connected apps) → SendGecko → Remove access.
- Telegram. Open your channel → Administrators → remove the SendGecko bot.
- Viber. Remove the channel in SendGecko and we delete the token right away.
- Bluesky. Bluesky → Settings → Privacy and security → App passwords → delete the SendGecko password.
- Mastodon. Mastodon → Preferences → Account → Authorized apps → SendGecko → Revoke.
- Discord. Discord → Server Settings → Integrations → Webhooks → delete the SendGecko webhook.
Removing SendGecko from Facebook, Instagram or Threads also stops us from receiving any more data from Meta. To ask us to delete what we already hold, use the steps in the next section.
Delete your account and all your data
- Email contact@sendgecko.io from the address on your SendGecko account. Or start the email with this template.
- We reply within 3 business days with a confirmation and, if we need to, one question to make sure the request is really from you.
- We delete your account, workspaces, posts, media, Resources, AI keys and connection data, and tell you when it's done. This takes up to 30 days.
If you only used the website (for example you joined the waitlist), email us from that address and we remove it. For workspaces with several members, the owner makes the request; a member can ask us to delete their own personal data.
What is deleted, and when
| What | What happens |
|---|---|
| Your account and workspace | Until you delete them. Then we remove them within 30 days, apart from encrypted backups (see below). |
| Access tokens, app passwords and webhook URLs for connected networks | Deleted immediately when you disconnect a channel, when the network tells us access was revoked, or when you delete your account. |
| Posts, drafts, ideas, Resources and Gecko Page content | Until you delete them or your workspace. Deleted items are kept for up to 30 days so you can undo a mistake, then removed. |
| Media you upload | Until you delete it or your workspace. Resized copies made for a network are removed after 14 days. Deleted files are purged within 30 days. |
| Analytics from your networks | For the history your plan includes (7 days to 2 years). Data from YouTube is refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days, as YouTube requires, and analytics are kept only while we can re-confirm your authorization. |
| AI requests and answers | The text is kept for 30 days to help us fix problems, then only the usage counts (model, tokens, credits) remain. |
| Your own AI provider keys (BYOK) | Encrypted, until you remove the key or delete your workspace. |
| Security and audit logs | Up to 12 months. |
| Server and error logs | Up to 30 days (error reports up to 90 days). |
| Billing records | For as long as tax and accounting law requires. They live with our payment provider. |
| Waitlist email and referral data | Until you ask us to remove you, or until 12 months after we open SendGecko to everyone. |
| Encrypted backups | Nightly backups are kept for 30 days. Deleted data can remain in a backup until that backup expires, and is never restored into the live service afterwards. |
We keep only what the law requires us to keep (for example billing records) and what we need to defend a legal claim. We tell you if we can't delete something and why.
For Meta, Google and other platforms
- Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads). If you removed SendGecko in your Meta settings and want us to delete the data we already received, follow the steps above and mention the Facebook or Instagram account name. We delete it within 30 days, well within the 90 days Meta asks for.
- Google and YouTube. After you revoke access in your Google security settings, we delete the credentials immediately and the other data we got from the YouTube API within 30 days.
- TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest and others. Same process: remove SendGecko on the network or in Settings → Channels, and email us if you want the rest deleted.
